13 Places to Sell Your Things to Make Cash Money

My husband didn’t know much about the reselling world. He didn’t know about Facebook Marketplace and apps like OfferUp. He only ever got items or bought items from people he knew or a person a friend referred him to. This was a new thing for him to consider but it wasn’t too hard of sell when he realized the money he could make!

I know the coronavirus has been hard on so many people and countries . If you are one of those people, you are probably looking for relief, hope, and a practical solution to get through these incredibly challenging times.

Essentially you are looking for ways to make extra money and in a short amount of time (legally of course!).

When my husband and I were leaving Minneapolis and moving back to Tampa we sold 80% of our things. We sold our couch, desk, dining table, dressers, t.v., mattress, bed frame, and probably more things I’ve forgotten. We wanted as little has possible as we moved across country, needing everything to fit in our Nissan Altima. A great upside was that we were able to make a couple hundred dollars to help with our moving expenses.

It honestly felt great to get rid of some things! Let’s be real, the reality is many of us (me included!) have a bunch of junk or items we don’t need or use anymore in our home. Instead of those things collecting dust it could be working for us.

A significant pillar of minimalism is removing items from your life or home that is no longer serving a purpose or is crowding your home. This a chance to be free and literally open up your home to new possibilities. In low waste living an important concept is getting the most use out of something as you possibly can. Reselling items gives items another life and opportunity to be useful instead of sitting in a landfill. Similar to COVID-19’s negative impacts, people often only focus on what you don’t get with a minimalist and low waste lifestyle instead of what you gain. This is a primary example where you can see a direct reward from this movement.

The coronavirus pandemic has been hard on people’s minds and money. In case no ones told you, living a minimalist and low waste lifestyle can actually help you during this times! I got you covered with 13 places to sell items your items either through in store or online/app.

However, don’t forget to take safety precautions when going into stores by wearing a mask, using hand sanitizer, and staying 6ft apart as much as possible. Also a quick rule of thumb with online/app selling is make sure to be safe with the information you provide to buyers, aim to exchange your items in the morning or day, and it’s okay to say no to buyers you feel uncomfortable with.
